What's On Walk in Your Shoes Prudhoe November Club is continuing its quest to walk some hidden or forgotten parts of Northumberland. We like to give people in different parts of the county the chance to join us, so for our second walk of 2023 we will be heading to the southern part of the county, almost touching the Gateshead and Durham borders. Here we’ll walk on timeless Northumbrian farmland, find evidence of old coal mining and coal transportation, as well as experience beautiful views of the Tyne Valley. On Sunday 16th July 2023 from 11.00am to approx. 2.00pm we will be undertaking a circular walk south of Prudhoe. This is a 5 mile walk on country footpaths with some walking on quiet country roads. There are some gentle slopes, but nothing too challenging. We can cater for most walking speeds. Our walks are open to all ages and are a great opportunity to talk with us, meet new people and enjoy some exercise. Joe Hufton, Artistic Director at November Club said: “Everyone who comes on our walks tells us they have a great time. As well as a chance to keep fit and experience the wonders of Northumberland's countryside, our walkers love chatting to each other and finding out each others’ stories. So much so, that we are determined to turn our walking project into an annual event. "The best things is seeing some more of beautiful Northumberland." The walk will start and end at Highfield Park, Prudhoe. We will stop for lunch during the walk, so please bring your own refreshments, including plenty of water.
